There are some really fun activities this weekend, from Princesses, Pirates and Peaches (say that 10 times fast!) to a German festival in North Bergen. If you head to Van Saun Park on Saturday you can witness two events–a 4-H fair and celebration of the Zoo's 50th Anniversary. Lions, tigers, and bears, Oh MY!


Peach, Princess and Pirate Party Family Festival. 12pm to 4pm. Crafts, planting activity, and a treasure hunt. Come dressed in your favorite Princess or Pirate costume. Camden Children's Garden. Link here

Bergen County 4-H Fair and Art Show. Sat: 10am-6pm; Sun: 10am-4pm. Live performances, hands on activities for kids, contests, handmade craft show, etc. Prizewinning exhibits of flowers, vegetables, photos, sewing, cooking, etc. Van Saun Park, Paramus. 

136th Annual Oktoberfest. A two day festival that raises funds for charity. Traditional German dancing, music, beer and cuisine are featured. Adults $6; children free. All proceeds go to charity. Casino Ball room will have clowns, ice cream, and moonwalk. Fritz Reuter Altenheim hosts the event at Schuetzen Park. 3167 Kennedy Blvd., North Bergen. 


Bergen County Zoo 50th Anniversary. 10am to 1pm. Zoo admission, train and carousel rides are FREE for Bergen County residents. Featuring 500 animals of 90 different species. Rain Date: Aug. 15th. Located within Van Saun Park, Paramus. 

Safari Adventure. 10am to 5pm. Explore the world of Animal Senses and learn how different animals can see, hear and hunt for prey. Come dressed as your favorite animal and join in the jungle parade. NJ Children's Museum, Paramus. Link here


33rd Annual Ramapo Rally Bicycle Tour. 7am-12pm. 12 mile family ride and more challenging 25-, 45-, 62-, 100-, and 125-mile routes. Day of registration is $35 and sign in starts at 7am. Routes close at 5pm. Post-ride lunch is included in fee. Portion of proceeds supports Camp Sunshine. Campgaw Mountain County Park, Mahwah. Link here
