There are fairs aplenty this weekend–whether a 4-H fair or one in Passaic County–you can have fun and learn something at the same time! If you want to cool off you can head down to Toms River and sample some ice cream at their annual festival. Or, stay local and eat some farm fresh food at Abma's Farm at their annual farm day. Get out and get happy! 


Morris County 4-H Fair. Sat: 10am to 10pm; Sun: 10am to 4pm. Animal and pet shows, entertainment tent, showcases, hands on activities,  etc. $5 parking donation. Chubb Park, Chester. Link here

Passaic County Fair. Sat: 4pm to 11pm; Sun: 4pm to 10pm. Kids races, games, scavenger hunts, baking and eating contests, circus acts, pony rides, and a dunk tank. Garret Mountain Reservation, Woodland Park. Free admission, $5 parking. Link here. 


Summer Berry Walk. 2pm to 3:30pm. Take a 3 mile hike and learn about berries that are visible on the trails. Palisade Interstate Park, Alpine.

Annie, the Musical. Thurs to Sat: 8pm; Sun: 3pm. Presented by Summer Stage at Leonia. Leonia High School. $15, $20, $28. Link here

Toms River Ice Cream Festival. 11:30am to 5pm. Games, rides, ice cream eating contest, and more! Purchase a tasting kit for $6 and you get to visit the booths to try a sample–then you vote for your fave! Washington St., Toms River. Free admission and parking! Link here

Abma's Farm 10th Annual Farm Day. 10am to 3pm. Feed the animals at the petting zoo, do a kids craft at the greenhouse, hayrides, pony rides, pig roast, BBQ pork ribs, vegies, lemonade, artisan ice cream and more! Free admission. Link here

American Girl Fashion Show Model Search. 11am to 3pm. Girls between the ages of 6 and 12 can audition. The Shops at Riverside (inside Barnes and Noble entrance). Link here


Butterfly Day. 10am to 3pm. Take a walk and observe butterflies, contests and door prizes. De Korte Park, Lyndhurst.

6th Annual Fairy Day. 1pm. Build a fairy house to attract fairies to the gardens. Fairy treats and live music as well! Freylinghuysen Arboretum, Morristown. $30 nonmember families. Link here
