The holiday season is winding down to a close as we say good-bye to 2011. It seems every year goes by faster and faster when you have kids so it's important to slow down and reflect on the year that's past. What better way to do that than visiting one of the First Night activities hosted by towns such as Montclair and Morristown? You can experience a variety of shows in one night, hopping from one venue to the next. Hope you have a wonderful New Year's celebration and see you in 2012!
Holiday Festival of Lights. (through Dec. 31st). Fri. and Sat. evenings 5:30pm to 8pm. Over 100,000 holiday lights and animated light sculptures. You can ride the carousel, Butterfly spring ride or the train ride for additional fees. Tree decorating takes place on 11/24 and Santa will come by truck. $4 per person. Free parking. Holiday Lights Spectacular. (until Dec. 28th). 100,000 bulbs and 40 lit displays. They will be collecting non-perishable food, used winter coats and unwrapped new toys for the needy each evening of holiday lights. Free! Turtle Back Zoo, West Orange. Link here.
New Year's Eve 2011. 6:30pm to 1am. Unlimited indoor attractions including arcade, bumper cars, go karts, MagiQuest, etc. 20 free tokens included. Buffet at 6:30 and 8pm dessert. First Night Morris 2012. 7pm. One admission button gets you access to more than 80 performances throughout downtown Morristown. Poetry, juggling, face painting, flea circus and Harlem Wizards. $20 buttons until 12/26; $70 for a 4-pack. Link here.
